About Me

A light joke first: "How many therapists does it take to change a light bulb?"

.

.

.

ONE, but the bulb has to want to change!

In all seriousness, consent and collaboration are important to me and my work.

I am Meghna, a Psychotherapist, physically working from Lyngby (Denmark), and virtually (accessible anywhere with an internet connection) - here to guide you through life’s most complex and difficult matters. I truly care about my clients’ well-being and guarantee top of the line counselling and psychological services catered to your needs.

I hold the profession of psychotherapy in high regard, and consider the confidence of my clients to be a privilege. In order to live up to the trust placed in me by my them, I strive to:

- be open to new perspectives through continued learning and consultation with others as needed. This includes maintaining regular supervision from fellow professionals and keeping up with experts in the field.

- have a sound understanding of, and ability to, apply the ethical standards of the profession. I follow the guidelines set by DPF (Dansk Psykoterapeut Forening) and BPS (British Psychological Society).

I am a science enthusiast, which means that I value critical evaluation of techniques and am keen on keeping abreast with latest research relevant to my clients' well-being. This also means that I do not believe in 'organic psychotherapy' borne out of experience, internet browsing and reading of self-help books. It's fantastic for people who have done this for themselves - but this does not make for good therapy.

Besides work, I currently live in Lyngby with my family of 5 - my husband, 2 children and 1 dog.  I have lived, worked and travelled in many countries and across cultures. I am also an economist (MSc. Finance and Economics from LSE, UK), and previously worked in the financial industry for 10 years, before expanding further into studying the psychological aspect of human behaviour. This means that I am equally comfortable talking about 'structured derivatives in hedging strategies', as I am about 'the role of emotions in decision making'.

In my leisure time, I love rowing (something I picked up in Denmark), mathematics (definitely an Indian thing) and the mountains (mostly nostalgia driven, since I spent a lot of my childhood running around in the Himalayas)

As humans go, I am complex, as I expect you are, and finding a therapist that works for you is a subjective experience. It's an important decision. Come and have a chat, and we can see if our chemistry works - no strings attached.
